Beta 3 Release Notes
Beta 3 includes numerous fixes, the themeengine was extended to standard comboboxes; TLMDCustomTabControl descendants were added. Besides that all standalone packs (except ChartPack) are now in final LMD 2007 version. Finally LogTools are now in usable state, check LMD LogTools Tutorial for more info. This toolset will be an additional free add-on for LMD-Tools CE / VCL Complete user.
You should know:
LMD-Tools is package- and file-freezed. Exception is ChartPack, which will be changed until final release. Issues which are currently worked on are:
- There are known isses with TLMDThemedComboBox descendants. E.g. TLMDColorComboBox - entry vanishes when mouse is moved out of control. Those will be all fixed until RC release.
- TLMDCustomTabControl (--> TLMDTabControl and TLMDPageControl) are in early beta stage. Several features are lacking (correct display of text/imagelists), also until final RC releases between complete theme support additional custom styles will be added.
- Due to Debug code and other issues ThemeEngine is still "flashy" (especially when switching between themes). THis will be improved in RC release.
- Demos are not completely overworked yet (except the new common ones in LMDRTLX demo folder)
- Helpfiles are not finished yet.
- ChartPack is still in beta.
Disclaimer:
This is beta software, so please do not use these packages with production code, only with backups of your projects! However there will be no additional structural changes, so it is safe porting projects for testing. In addition you can not run LMD2003 and LMD2007 releases at the same time. However using our Packutil freeware tool you can easily switch between different package collections.
We are very interested in any form of feedback, especially for experiences in updating existing projects. Please use public groups on LMD Newsserver for any reports or feedback.
